Plastic spoon, plastic cup, pipette, hot water, custard powder, coffee granuales, instant coffee, gravy granules, flour

Method: Explain what you did.
1)Firstly,carefully siringe 1 pipette of hot water into the cup to mix it with the solid.
2)Secondly, stir the mixture ten times with the plastic spoon .
3)Next, wait 5 minutes to let the fluid soak.
4)Then, carefully observe the liquid to see wether it is a solution (where it dissolves) or a suspension (where the solid floats in the liquid).
5)Lastly record the results into your book clearly.

I am measuring the solubility of each mixture.
I will change the solid every time.
I will keep the same the amount of hot water,leave the mixture for the same amount of minutes.
I will also keep the same the amount of stirring so it is a fair test.

Prediction: What do you think will happen? Explain why!
I think the custard powder will turn into a solution because the powder is thin not think and heavy.

1. First I got 30 ml of water.
2. I then squeezed 30 ml of water into each cup.
3. Then I left each cup for five minutes.
4. Then I looked in each cup to see the differences.

I kept the same the amount of water otherwise it would be an unfair test. I would change the amount of times we spun the liquids because I think that it would change the way it ends.

I think that the flour will not dissolve because even if you cover it in water, it is not able to dissolve because of the size of the particles.

2) Then I mixed the mixture gently with a plastic spoon.
3) After that I observed the mixture.
4) Next I wrote up my results in a chart.
5) I will repeat the steps 1-4 for each solid or mixture.

I changed the solid and the spoon, I will not change the amount of stirs and volume of water. I am measuring the amount of solubility that different solids have.

The solids will all be soluble because my family has all these solids at their home and we mix them with hot water but not flour, so, I am not sure if the flour will be soluble.

I squeezed out 4ml of water into my material and then stir it 50 times with a plastic spoon. Then I observed the liquid to see if it had changed.

I kept the amount of water the same and I did not change anything. I will measure the amount of water.

I predict that the gravy granules would dissolve in the warm water because I knew that when you add hot water to gravy granules when you’re cooking, the granules dissolve to make a solution.

We take the material and using a pipette we put water on the material and observe the material for five minutes.

I believe the custard powder will dissolve because it is very fine with small particles.
